Tai Chi is a moving meditative practice that heals your body while subduing your mind. The immediate effects of practicing a Tai Chi set include opening and strengthening your internal energy circulation, removing energy blockages, and de-stressing and ridding yourself of the daily accumulated toxins from your environment or your own mind.
Tai Chi cultivates Qi, your life force or energy, which makes it a longevity practice and also moves qi in profound and powerful ways, removing any obstructions or blockages that may have developed in the course of daily or long-term stresses. As a daily practice, it continually supports your life path.
The long-term effects (especially if you implement it on a daily basis) include regaining your youthful strength, improving balance and sight, calming the mind, reducing stress, anxiety and depression, strengthening the lungs, heart, bones, sinews and tendons, keeping your joints flexible and improving the quality and force of your Qi. There are extensive martial art applications as well which can be implemented or customized upon request.
I have studied and practiced Tai Chi Chuan for 24 years and it is a great honor to be able to teach you this age-old tradition here in Davis CA. I am the owner of Lien-Ying Tai-Chi Chuan Academy IV. My first experience with Tai Chi cured what had been diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome. Ever since then, I have practiced Tai Chi to strengthen my system and to better aid others with their Qi and health. I am a true supporter of Tai Chi Chuan. I truly believe it brings you into the rhythm of the natural world and universe.
My beginning Tai Chi Class consists of 64 movements and warm-up exercises. I offer private lessons and group workshops. I have taught at UCD’s Employee Health Awareness Program. Those interested in the extensive martial art applications can ask for further instruction.
